Invercargill TKO Boats is only weeks away from launching its first 8.5m hardtop, the first of two similar boats from this new alloy boat builder.
TKO Boats may be a new name to the aluminium boat building scene, but that doesn’t seem to have had any adverse effect on their order books. Dean Giddens, from TKO Boats, says that the first two 8.5m hardtops are just the start of potentially upwards of 18 orders.
Dean has had many years experience in the alloy boat building business and says he felt it was time he branched out and introduced his own brand.
“We have the facility to build about 15 boats a year, and already we are finding a market not only in Invercargill and the South Island, but also the North Island, which is encouraging”.
He added that he hopes to have not only his new 8.5m HT at the 2020 Hutchwilco NZ Boat Show but also an 8m and a stunning 11.2m powered by a pair of Evinrude 250hp G2 engines.
The company called on renowned designers, Hall Marine Design to come up with concepts and the result is a very impressive line up of models. The range extends from 8m through to 11.2m, and all can be sterndrive or outboard powered.
The first TKO 8.5 HT will be launched at the end of January with a pair of 250hp Evinrude G2s, with boat number two having a couple of 200hp Suzuki outboards.
