NZ Marine has appointed Callum Gillespie as its new Executive Director, with his tenure beginning on Monday, 4 May.
Gillespie brings a strong marine background along with extensive leadership experience and a values-driven approach. He has a proven track record in strategy, stakeholder engagement and organisational leadership, making him well placed to guide the industry body into its next chapter.
His appointment marks an important milestone for NZ Marine as the organisation continues to support and represent the marine sector across Aotearoa New Zealand.
As Executive Director, Gillespie will be responsible for shaping NZ Marine’s strategic direction, strengthening relationships with industry, government and the wider community, and leading the organisation through its next phase of growth following the departure of long-serving Executive Director Peter Busfield.
Gillespie said he was honoured to take on the role and looked forward to working closely with the NZ Marine team, members, Board and industry partners to build on the organisation’s strong foundation and deliver meaningful outcomes for the sector.
