Allan Tongs Boatbuilders launched the latest addition to its Elite AT43 fleet yesterday, with hull number 11, Sayonara, taking to the water on a picture-perfect Auckland winter day. Under blue skies and on calm, glass-like conditions, the new launch made an impressive first appearance ahead of sea trials.
While retaining the proven Elite AT43 platform, Sayonara introduces a number of notable firsts for the model. A Seakeeper gyro stabiliser features, along with VEEM propellers, a full lithium battery system, and complete CZone digital vessel management.
The interior is equally distinctive, featuring a custom-designed headboard incorporating a family tapa cloth, creating a striking focal point and adding a personal story to the vessel’s bespoke fit-out.
During sea trials, the combination of new technology and equipment will be put through its paces. The boat is expected to provide valuable insight into the performance benefits of the latest propulsion and onboard systems offered within the Elite AT43 package.
For Allan Tongs Boatbuilders, the launch marks another milestone for the New Zealand-built cruiser, with hull number 11 continuing the evolution of a design that has earned a loyal following among owners seeking a blend of semi-custom craftsmanship, practicality and performance.
