Grand Banks has introduced its new GB65, continuing the company’s focus on long-range cruising yachts that combine efficiency, performance and onboard comfort.
Built using Grand Banks’ proprietary V-WARP Technology®, the GB65 has been designed to operate efficiently across a wide range of speeds. At around 50 percent engine load, the yacht can cruise at approximately 20 knots while consuming 37 gallons per hour. Reducing speed to 10 knots extends its cruising range to a claimed 2,344 nautical miles.
The first GB65 Skylounge is powered by twin Volvo Penta IPS 1350 engines and is capable of speeds exceeding 30 knots. Owners can choose between pod-drive or conventional shaft-drive propulsion, with Grand Banks engineering the hull so the same underbody can accommodate either configuration.
The GB65 is available in both Skylounge and Flybridge layouts and can be configured for a range of uses, from extended passagemaking and family cruising to expedition-style boating or sportfishing.
Interior accommodation includes an expansive saloon, aft galley and full-beam master suite. A third ensuite stateroom adds further flexibility and can alternatively be configured as an office, utility space or additional guest accommodation.
Considerable attention has also been given to the yacht’s engineering and onboard systems. The engine room has been designed to provide good access around the engines and generators, while simplified fuel and electrical systems are intended to make the yacht easier to operate and maintain during extended cruising.
A single centreline fuel tank helps maintain balance while reducing the need for complicated fuel manifolds, while the electrical system has been developed to minimise the need for constant load management or switching between onboard and shore power.
Grand Banks offers the GB65 through its builder-direct sales model, allowing owners to work closely with the factory on accommodation layouts, equipment choices and individual detailing.
The result is a highly adaptable addition to the Grand Banks range, combining genuine long-distance capability with the performance and comfort expected from a contemporary cruising motor yacht.
