Mercury Introduces New Smart Tow Surf System

Mercury Marine has introduced its all-new Smart Tow Surf system, an integrated control solution designed to make surfing, wakeboarding, waterskiing and other tow sports easier and more enjoyable.

Developed specifically for tow sport boats, Smart Tow Surf brings together engine data, wave shaping, ballast management, digital switching and C-Zone technology through a single, intuitive helm interface.

The system provides a fully customised experience, allowing drivers to fine-tune their boat’s performance to suit different activities and individual rider preferences. A dedicated full-screen display keeps essential vessel information, including speed, water depth and fuel levels, clearly visible at all times

Smart Tow Surf offers three dedicated operating modes – Surf, Wakeboard and Ski/Tube.

Surf Mode allows riders to select their preferred surf side, adjust speed and launch intensity, and customise wave characteristics. Wakeboard Mode provides targeted speed ramps and launch control settings, while Ski/Tube Mode caters for higher-speed activities with dedicated acceleration profiles.

The system also incorporates independent ballast and tab controls, allowing drivers to fine-tune wave formation. Up to three hard ballast tanks can be managed through dedicated pumps, with convenient Fill All, Empty All and Stop All presets.

Additional features include integrated lighting and audio controls through C-Zone digital switching technology, along with a customisable multiscreen display.

Mercury Marine MerCruiser Product Manager ANZP, Muni Kuppuswamy, said the new system was designed to provide a more connected, intuitive and personalised on-water experience.

“For sport enthusiasts, Smart Tow Surf creates the perfect waves at the push of a button, with the ability to store custom profiles, control ballast effortlessly and switch between surf, wake and ski modes instantly,” he said.

Smart Tow Surf is now available on Mercury’s MerCruiser T6200 and T8200 Tow Sport Inboards and is offered as a standard option on the MerCruiser 8.2L.
