Azimut Yachts has released a new 53 Flybridge model, with the first sale into New Zealand confirmed.Â
Â
This new yacht from Azimut will compete in the mid-range Flybridge market segment. The yacht’s flowing lines hide surprisingly spacious interiors, making it perfect for a family who wants to enjoy long cruises in absolute comfort. Â
The exterior design characterised by a sophisticated aesthetic is by Alberto Mancini. He continues to work in the direction defined with the shipyard for the Flybridge and S collections’ latest models. The elegant interiors are designed in a contemporary style by the Azimut Style Office.
The stated aim is to offer a boat in the 50-foot segment that is perfect for a family who wants to spend long periods on board in absolute comfort. All while staying true to Azimut’s hallmark style. The solution was to combine multiple existing solutions in such a way as to create something new, significantly extending both the space on board and our perception of it.Â
The generously proportioned day area is laid out on almost the same level. The galley is near the entrance, and the living area separated by a difference in the height of just 25cn.Â
The incredible sense of airiness and freedom of movement that this creates is enhanced by side windows that run uninterrupted, with no uprights, from just beyond the entrance area to the windscreen. As a result, natural light and the view over the water are the yacht’s undisputed protagonists, adding to the pleasure of spending time onboard. Â
The storage spaces, the depth of the armchairs and sofas, and the galley appliances have all been studied down to the smallest detail to ensure functionality, comfort, convenience and durability.
The choice of Volvo IPS propulsion system, which keeps the centre of gravity low and reduces the amount of space needed in the engine room, makes it possible not only to reduce the height of the step between the galley and the living area but also to offer a night area that meets the expectations of the whole family.Â
The master stateroom amidships offers a predominantly full-height space to move around in. The suite’s storage spaces are unbelievable, with a fully appointed walk-in wardrobe, in addition to a second storage column and half-height units along the hull side, plus additional space under the bed for bulkier objects. Â
The lobby has been carefully designed to create space for a washer-dryer machine plus storage space without reducing the third twin-bed cabin’s surface area. Simultaneously, the partially vertical bow makes the VIP cabin exceptionally roomy, with much more storage space and distance between the bed and the bulkhead than the market average.
When designing the exterior area, the focus was again on convenience. With only one stairway to the swim platform, the L-shaped sofa in the cockpit is longer, deeper, and more comfortable. Simultaneously, the exterior storage cabin (or crew cabin) can be accessed directly from the transom. The setting can also be fitted with a bar unit with an ice maker and bottle chillers.
The foredeck and flybridge sunpad cushions have a shape, thickness and size that are an anthem to laziness and very hard to resist. And in the rear section of the flybridge, the classic dinette becomes more versatile, proposing an up-down table that turns it into a second lounge area with a privileged vantage point over the water.
Two Volvo IPS 950 D11 725Hp engines ensure more volume on board and comfort, efficiency, and manoeuvrability. The two engines deliver a top speed of 31 knots and a cruising speed of 27 knots, significantly reducing consumption and noise and making mooring operations even more straightforward.Â
