XO BOATS LAUNCHES THE NEW DFNDR 9

by admin

Finnish company XO Boats Ltd. has launched the newest achievement of its ambitious product development, and they are coming to New Zealand.

The new DFNDR 9 (8.75m) follows the known principles of XO boats – yet takes substantial leaps forward in versatility and seaworthiness.

“The unique design concept makes the DFNDR 9 an excellent choice for adventures, water sports and fishing alike”, says David Carpenter from The Adventure Boat Company, who distribute the brand throughout Australia, and now available in New Zealand from Q4 2021.

All XO models are built around the same base concept, a hull manufactured from the highest quality military-grade aluminium. The alloy used for the hull is 57% stronger than regular aluminium. With a hull thickness of 8mm on the keel and 5mm on the sides, this gives every XO incredible strength and seaworthiness, and an entire GRP superstructure still provides the creature comforts that every boater demands.

The DFNDR 9 is the first centre console XO boat for overnight use, which – along with extensive customising opportunities – makes it an exceptional multipurpose boat. While the open cabin structure enables enjoying the warm winds, optional walls provide shelter from harsh weather. The clever design allows for various uses, from water skiing and sport fishing today, cruising and challenging adventures. The aft deck and bow areas convert into huge sunbeds, while a private head and berths for two enable comfortable overnight stays.

Equipped with two Mercury 225 V6 engines, the boat can reach a speed of up to 50 knots.

The super-strong XO military-grade aluminium structure and deep-V hull design also make the DFNDR 9 an attractive choice for a superyacht chase boat, as well as for professional use.

As David Carpenter further adds, “XO Boats are designed for adventurous and active use – creating amazing experiences and stories on every journey. XO owners are typically trailblazers who create adventures for others to follow.”
