South Island Marathon Series Champions             Â
The very competitive South Island Marathon series has wrapped up after nine events. Once again, the season attracted some of the fastest single outboard powered monohulls and cats in the country, with several competitors regular taking to the race venues from Auckland.
Race nine, the final round of the New Zealand Boat Marathon series, was held on Lake Waihola, with twenty boats competing in the Nominated speed event on Saturday morning and a two-race speed format run on the Saturday afternoon. Conditions were ideal to end the season with a calm lake, making for fast racing with perfect race conditions.
After it was over, the 2021 season champions were named.
