Organisers of New Zealand’s largest, longest-running and most popular boat show, the Hutchwilco New Zealand Boat Show, have confirmed that the show will be run, as planned, at the Auckland Showgrounds in Greenlane on May 18-21.
“This is great news for the marine industry, our hundreds of valued exhibitors and the tens of thousands Kiwi boaties and fishers that so look forward to the show each year,” says show general manager Dave Gibbs.

The huge show, which attracts both boat builders and keen boaties from all over New Zealand, is generally acknowledged as one of the best boat shows in Australasia.
It is also the only show to offer those who attend the chance to take home a must-be-won Grand Prize boat package worth more than a quarter of a million dollars!
“I am glad to announce that, at the 2023 show next May, we will again be offering, thanks to our fantastic sponsors, a fully-kitted-out Surtees/Yamaha Grand Prize boat package worth over $300,000,” says Dave Gibbs.
“Entry into the draw will be open to everyone who buys a ticket to the show either at the gate or in advance on line, with those buying on line getting an additional free bonus entry as well.”
The 2023 New Zealand Boat Show and all exhibitions at the Auckland Showgrounds has been in doubt for some time due to a dispute with the Cornwall Park Trust, who were wanting to lease the facilities to the movie industry. This would have meant there was no viable exhibition centre for large shows in Auckland. A recent high court ruling found in favour of the exhibition industry as to being legally entitled to use the showgrounds. A new board of management will be appointed to run the Cornwall Park Trust in the future.
