GP HYDRO THUNDER ON FIRE

by admin

The 2022 Hydro Thunder NZ Series has seen up to 10 boats competing making it the biggest season ever.

After two rounds (Wanaka & Mangakino) David Alexander driving Miss Waverley is the series points leader with 171 points. With 131 points, Steve Preece (Miss Marsden Cove) brings up second place, from Christchurch based Raymond Hart driving Thunderstruck on 128 points. Ken Lupton driving Lucasoil trailers close behind with 125 points.

The racing for the two meetings has been hard fought with plenty of action and close racing.  Mangakino saw the first outing for Selwyn Coker in GP10 and Jack Lupton at the wheel of Glen Head’s, Chemical Guys. Both had limited success but are all fired up for the next round at Downtown Tauranga, Jan 14-15. Round four will be Lake Karapiro (Feb 11-12) with the final round to be held at Lake Rotoiti – Nelson (Mar 11-12)
