AUCKLAND ON WATER SHOW

When the Auckland Boat Show kicks off on the 23 March, it will be with 112 boats on the water and more than 500 marine brands on show.

The biggest on water boat show in the country, it’s also become the home of marine innovation in New Zealand with brands launching their newest vessels from the past year at the March show. Held in Jellicoe Harbour, formerly the America’s Cup team bases, this year’s show has a line up of new releases from both local and international boat builders.
Legacy Marine’s L70 will be a much-anticipated entrant to the show with the new flagship from the Whakatane builder displaying a combination of New Zealand-built quality, and luxury finishing wrapped in a capable package.
Auckland-based Sealegs will introduce a just-released electric amphibious tender; its 3.8m electric tender, the 3.8TE.

The new electric amphibious tender was developed after feedback from superyacht owners and crew, and saw the 3.8TE specifically designed to fit within the lazarette of larger vessels. Innovation is being delivered in the 3TE through Programmable Logic Switching (PLS) technology coupled with next generation sensors. To achieve this vision, Sealegs has pioneered amphibious electrification with digital controls and software, which it calls AMTRAX.

As well as being the largest on water boat show in the country, it’s also the largest collection of luxury vessels in New Zealand with releases from Riviera, Princess, Legacy, Nimbus, Iliad Catamarans, Beneteau, Elite, Admiral, Bavaria, Jeanneau and many more.
Uniquely, the show also has a dedicated sea trial marina. This allows show visitors to not only view boats of interest but see how they perform as they’re taking straight into the Waitemata Harbour on sea trial.
Included in this year’s sea trial marina will be releases from Northland’s Makaira Boats which will bring its Gen3 35, with head-turning aluminium flared bow, combined with fuel efficiency, uncompromising performance and spacious sleeping for six.

Alongside Makaira in the sea trial area, fellow Northland company Blackdog Cat will have its ultra-stable twin-hulled aluminium vessels on show; a favourite among fishermen, divers and families.
With boating now New Zealand’s number one recreational activity, the show creates a summer festival on the water bringing together all things marine in one central Auckland location. The Auckland Boat Show runs from 23-26 March in Jellicoe Harbour, Wynyard Quarter. Buy your tickets online now to win from a marine prize pool, or at the gate on the day.
