Furuno New Zealand is set to introduce two new multi-function display (MFD) ranges to the local market, with the launch of the TZTMap and TZtouchE series scheduled to coincide with the upcoming Auckland Boat Show.
Designed to make advanced navigation technology more accessible across a wider range of vessel types, the new systems deliver streamlined user interfaces, integrated fish finding capability, and enhanced chart plotting functionality, while maintaining the reliability and performance Furuno is known for. The launch expands Furuno’s NavNet ecosystem with solutions aimed at both stand-alone users seeking simplicity and operators requiring scalable, networked navigation systems.
Stand-Alone Simplicity with TZTMap
The TZTMap series introduces compact, all-in-one navigation displays designed for smaller vessels or operators seeking a single-display solution without the complexity of networked systems. Available in 9-inch and 13-inch models, TZTMap units feature built-in TruEcho CHIRP™ fish finding capability, advanced chart plotting, and Furuno’s TZ MAPS cartography platform. The systems operate on a streamlined version of the TZtouchXL operating platform and include cloud-based route and waypoint backup via My TimeZero. The units also support radar integration and AI-assisted route planning, providing a practical solution for recreational and coastal operators seeking reliable navigation and fish finding in a simplified package. The TZTMap range provides an accessible entry point into the company’s navigation ecosystem, particularly suited to trailer boats, and sailing craft.
Scalable Performance with TZtouchE
Alongside TZTMap, Furuno is introducing the TZtouchE series, a network-capable MFD designed to bring advanced navigation tools to a broader market segment. The TZtouchE range includes 9-inch and 13-inch models that support radar, sonar, and fish finder integration, and can operate as either a single-station solution or part of a fully networked navigation system. The units are compatible with existing NavNet TZtouch systems and Furuno’s current radar and sonar technologies. Standard features include internal CHIRP and CW fish finder capability, CHIRP Side-Scan functionality, and advanced situational awareness tools such as Risk Visualizer™ and AI Avoidance Route™. The series is positioned as a flexible and competitively priced solution for boaters seeking professional-level navigation capability with room for future expansion.
Enhanced Charting with TZ MAPS
Both product ranges utilise Furuno’s TZ MAPS platform, which combines official hydrographic chart data, high-resolution bathymetry, satellite imagery, and community-sourced information. The system is designed to provide improved chart clarity, customisation, and real-time situational awareness. With cloud integration via My TimeZero, users can securely manage routes and waypoints across devices. Furuno New Zealand will showcase both TZTMap and TZtouchE at the Auckland Boat Show March 5th-8th, where visitors will be able to experience live demonstrations and explore the systems’ capabilities firsthand. These new products will be available through Furuno’s authorised New Zealand dealer network following the show.
