Visitors to the Auckland Boat Show will get their first look at the all-new Fin Chaser 800HTA Hard Top Walkaround Amphibious, on display from March 5 to 8. Powered by Mercury’s 425hp V10 Verado outboard, the 800HTA targets boaters wanting serious offshore performance combined with multi-role versatility.
The design centres around a walkaround layout that maintains full cabin width, bunk space and headroom, areas where many walkaround boats traditionally compromise. Forward, a generous 6m² fishing and sunbathing platform provides usable space more commonly associated with much larger boats, while high bow rails enhance safety for both anglers and families. Seating is configured to comfortably accommodate four to six people. Overnight capability is supported by a 2-metre-long bunk area, wide enough to sleep up to three people if required, while overhead hammocks provide practical storage for life jackets and gear.
A key feature of the 800HTA is its integration with the Anura S30 Electric Amphibious system, allowing seamless transition between land and water and expanding launch options beyond traditional ramps. The amphibious system is powered by a Victron 48V battery bank, supported by bidirectional charging, solar input, and the outboard’s high-output alternator, helping ensure the batteries remain charged both underway and in storage. The FIN CHASER 800HTA is expected to attract strong interest at the Auckland Boat Show, with a full review scheduled for an upcoming issue of Pacific PowerBoat Magazine.
