POWER UP FOR THE 70TH HUTCHWILCO NEW ZEALAND BOAT SHOW

by admin

The Hutchwilco New Zealand Boat Show marks its 70th anniversary in 2026, running from 14–17 May 2026, at the Auckland Showgrounds. As the country’s largest and longest-running marine event, it brings together boats, fishing gear, electronics, accessories, and marine innovation all in one place. Whether for fishing, cruising, family outings, or exploring new coastlines, the show remains a key opportunity to see what’s new, compare options, and meet the people behind the equipment.

Celebrating seven decades of Kiwi boating, the show combines heritage displays with a substantial lineup of new models, updated equipment, and over 40 first-time exhibitors. Visitors can get hands-on with the latest engines, electronics, and accessories while exploring trends shaping the marine sector.

A standout feature is the show’s largest-ever prize package: a Surtees 770 Game Fisher XL powered by Yamaha 350hp V6, Helm Master DX system, trailer, Garmin electronics, a $10,000 Shimano rod-and-reel set, and a $4,000 water sports bundle valued at over $380,000. Attendees can enter by scanning their registered tickets at show points, with extra entries for online purchases before 11 May. Daily Viking Kayak giveaways add extra excitement.

Fishing enthusiasts can explore the Shimano Fishing Pavilion, featuring masterclasses from Chad Prentice, Dan Govier, and Matt Watson, plus Kids Fishing Workshops hosted by Nicky Wilson. Fireside chats with Shimano Pro Staffers offer hands-on tips and advice. Returning favourites include Coastguard safety seminars, the Hutchwilco Pool, kids’ entertainment, and the Kai Collective food hub, alongside expanded product ranges, updated educational content, and themed areas for shopping, learning, and exploration.

For any boatie owner, future buyer, or marine enthusiast, the 70th Hutchwilco New Zealand Boat Show promises a rich blend of heritage, innovation, and hands-on experiences.
