
Scania New Zealand has announced that it will merge the operations of South Pacific Diesel Systems into its business effective 1 March 2026, further strengthening Scania’s presence and customer support capability across the New Zealand market.
“South Pacific Diesel has played an important role in Scania’s success in New Zealand over many years in providing Power Solutions to the New Zealand market. This transition allows us to strengthen customer relationships, invest further in our people and infrastructure, and continue raising the bar in service quality and operational excellence. This means that Scania New Zealand can consolidate the sales and service offerings of marine and industrial engines, alongside our current product suite.” Says Victor Carvalho, Managing Director, Scania New Zealand.
South Pacific Diesel Systems has been a long-standing and highly respected partner ofScania, with a strong reputation for technical expertise, customer focus, and deep knowledge of the local market. Scania New Zealand intends to build on this strong foundation, ensuring continuity and stability for both customers and employees throughout the transition.
Victor Carvalho, Managing Director of Scania New Zealand, said the transition reflects Scania’s focus on long-term partnerships and sustainable growth in the region.
Ross Williamson, Managing Director of South Pacific Diesel Systems, said customers would see clear, practical benefits from the transition.

Customers can expect business to continue as usual throughout the transition period, with no disruption to service, parts supply, or support. Scania New Zealand and South Pacific Diesel Systems are working closely together to ensure a smooth and well-managed handover ahead of the March 2026 commencement date.
