What began as a side project by local designer and surfer Syl has evolved into one of Australia’s most thoughtful independent watch releases, blending timeless design with ocean-focused functionality. The Tide Seeker, Bower Watches’ debut model, is a 39-mm analog wristwatch that tracks time and tide without a screen or apps.
“I used to check the tide on my phone multiple times a day and kept getting pulled into distractions,” says Syl. “This watch is about reconnecting with the ocean’s rhythm simply, intuitively, and stylishly.”
The watch uses a dedicated tide hand that completes a full cycle every 12 hours and 25 minutes, mimicking the natural rhythm of the moon-driven tide. With a quick press of the recessed pusher and a glance at a local tide chart, wearers can align the watch to their favourite beach or body of water. No tech is required.
