This formal sponsorship agreement demonstrates the shared goals of water safety that exist between both organisations. Boat safety in, on and around the water is paramount for drowning prevention in Auckland and is such a priority for Aakron Express. For every boat sold, Aakron Express make sure the new owner has the necessary lifejackets to stay safe when using the Highfield boat they have purchased.

Aakron Xpress has sponsored Drowning Prevention Auckland a the Highfield Club 420 boat, Suzuki engine and a trailer. The Club 420 boat is perfect for Drowning Prevention Auckland’s open-water programmes, especially its Kai Moana Gathering and Coastal Awareness programmes. The Club 420 offers the strength and durability of an aluminium hull and the spacious practicality that is required. The Club 420 boat is also a robust, reliable and safe boat which gives our team of aquatic educators the tools to be able to educate about drowning prevention appropriately.

Drowning Prevention Auckland is a lead agency for water safety coordination and education in the Auckland region. Their vision is an Auckland, free from drowning, achieved through the development of water competence and changing knowledge, attitudes and behaviours in, on and around water.

Samantha Gunther, Business Manager for Drowning Prevention Auckland says’ “When on a boat remember the boating safety code: wear a lifejacket, take two waterproof ways to call for help, check the marine weather forecast, avoid alcohol, and be a responsible skipper”.
