QUICK now has the compatibility to connect and synchronise a proportional bow thruster to Volvo and Mercury manoeuvring systems. Quick Group introduces the new QSY 140 mm tunnel thruster, powered by advanced Quick Synchronous Motor (QSY) technology – delivering high efficiency, instant response, and smooth manoeuvring in tight spaces.
KEY HIGHLIGHTS
• Thrust: 55 kgf
• Tunnel Diameter: 140 mm
• Compact footprint
• Motor technology: brushless synchronous motor
• IP68 rating as standard
• Proportional as standard
• Immediate torque & ultra-smooth control
• Reduced energy consumption vs traditional DC motors
• Brushless design for longer life & minimal maintenance
• Optimised for quiet operation
• Plug-and-play integration
• Reduced wiring time and installation complexity
WHY QSY TECHNOLOGY?
• Higher efficiency and lower current draw
• Precise control during docking
• Increased durability and reduced wear
• Seamless integration with modern control systems
• Perfect manoeuvring control for compact to mid-size boats requiring reliable thrust and efficient power management
The QSY Quick Synchronous Motors range represents the concept of innovative electric motors of the future, carefully designed to be extremely efficient and able to guarantee high performances, they embody a real revolution in the nautical field.
CONTROL SYSTEM
The new QNE Thruster Control System from Quick Group, equipped with PCC controls on the proprietary QCentric (CANbus) network. This state-of-the-art system is designed for the control of native proportional bow and stern thrusters, typically fitted with QSY permanent magnet brushless synchronous electric motors, but it is also compatible with less advanced configurations.
PCC CONTROLS – COMPACT DESIGN AND FUNCTIONALITY
The PCC controls, while retaining all the typical QNE control features (proportional response, safety, diagnostics), stand out for:
• Compact design
• Easy integration, even on smaller helm stations
• Optimised ergonomics for precise manoeuvring
The QCentric network also enables multi-station setups, ideal for vessels with:
• Flybridge
• Cockpit helm stations
• Multiple control points
INTEGRATION WITH ENGINE MANUFACTURER MANOEUVRING SYSTEMS
The system is designed for integration with major engine manufacturers’ manoeuvring systems via a dedicated gateway based on NMEA2000 or proprietary protocols.
Integration with Volvo Penta
Compatible with the latest Volvo Penta Assisted Docking systems:
• DPI (stern drives)
• IPS 10, 15, 20, and 30, and Joystick Docking for single DPI installations
Integration with Mercury Marine
Compatible with Mercury systems (as installed on the Pardo 43):
• Gen 2 DTS controls
• Joystick Piloting for Outboards / Helm system
• Bow thruster integration kit
QNE THRUSTER CONTROL SYSTEM WITH PCC ON QCENTRIC NETWORK
The new QCentric network allows a direct connection between the PCC and the QSY thruster motor—no extra control unit needed. A standard setup includes only the control panel and thruster. For Mercury Marine or Volvo Penta integration, simply add a gateway.
ADVANTAGES
FOR THE SHIPYARD: Simplified installation and reduced assembly time, Lower system complexity, Scalable architecture, ready for future integrations
FOR THE END USER: Smoother, proportional manoeuvres, Full integration with engine joystick systems, More intuitive and controlled docking experience, Advanced, stable digital technology, Extended diagnostics.
