Imagine if the humble boat hook was more than just a boat hook? Imagine if it could multi-function and better earn its place onboard. Buoycatcher launched in New Zealand this month, having already created quite an impact in the UK and Europe. Sold as a complete solution, boaties can choose from a range of heads that fit to its unique high quality floating telescopic pole.

Unlike many of the poles on the market, the Buoycatcher pole does not use a twist lock system but rather a double locking mechanism like that used on tripods. This means a better more trustworthy lock and a more stable pole even when extended to its full 3.2 m.
The starting package comprises the pole and heavy duty thermoplastic boat hook head. And if a more traditional look is preferred then there is the option of a stainless steel boat hook head. For those that want to make it easier to pick up cleats and rings on moorings then the unique Buoycatcher heads enable boaties to quickly and easily thread a mooring line through a mooring and back to the vessel, even at 3.2m away.

For those planning on cruising to places where mooring balls often simply have a ring on top, then the Buoycatcher head makes it easy to thread their own lines through the ring, quickly.
For the slightly more accident prone among us, the option of a marine magnet that attaches to the pole, means you can pick up 15kg from the sea bed. Simply attach the magnet to your pole, then extend the pole down to the depth you need – those car keys overboard don’t need to ruin your day!

With many more head options making their way here, the Buoycatcher system will earn its place on any boat – Choose from deck brush heads, knives for dealing with prop wraps, to fishing gaffs and fishing nets – one solution does it all.
