Today I was due to be arriving back home from the Taiwan Boat Show, but like a lot of boat shows around the world it got canned. Then on Wednesday this week we were due to be an exhibitor at the Auckland Boat Show. Another no show however, and so my first show fix (hopefully) for 2022 will be the Hutchwilco New Zealand Boat Show (May 12-15), followed by the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show (May 19-22). I say hopefully because if we are still under the red traffic light in May, then the Hutchwilco may also become a victim to Covid/Omicron.
Speaking to show organiser Dave Gibbs, he says he is proceeding full on and expects the show to go ahead on the advertised dates. In my opinion and that of most of my friends we have done the hard yards and now we need to get on with life. It is time this government stopped holding the country to ransom. They are out of control and we need to free up all the barriers so life can get back to some sort of normality. Anyway we can always go boating I suppose.
