DEMEY Yachts has successfully launched its second DEMEY 60, a powerful and versatile explorer-style motor yacht built for a New Zealand client. The vessel has been completed to full survey standard and will operate as a luxury charter boat catering to overseas visitors, while primarily serving as a private family explorer.
This latest DEMEY 60 builds on the success of the first vessel with a custom layout optimised for family fishing and on-water entertainment. It features a larger rear boat deck than the first DEMEY 60, designed specifically for family fun close to the water. Additional key features include two tenders: a 3.7-metre carbon catamaran that stows neatly in the tender garage, and an OC300 tender stored on the upper boat deck for easy launching.
The yacht will be based at Orakei Marina in Auckland, providing convenient access to New Zealand’s spectacular cruising grounds. It is designed for extended adventures, with the owners planning voyages to iconic destinations including Fiordland and Fiji.
Constructed using DEMEY Yachts’ signature advanced composite technology and vacuum infusion processes, the new DEMEY 60 delivers an excellent strength-to-weight ratio, outstanding efficiency, and the robust durability the shipyard is renowned for.
Initial sea trials have been highly promising, with the vessel achieving an impressive range of 1,650 nautical miles at 18 knots on 90% fuel capacity (with 10% in reserve).
