The decision ends uncertainty over the show, initially set for April 8.
As the conflict in the Middle East enters Day 11, the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), owner and organiser of the Dubai International Boat Show (DIBS), has just announced that the show will be postponed until November 25-29 this year. The decision ends speculation surrounding the show, originally scheduled to begin on April 8, and provides clarity for exhibitors and visitors.
In a statement to exhibitors and partners, the organisers explained: “Over the past weeks, we have been closely reviewing international travel dynamics and market conditions across the wider region. Following consultations with our industry partners and the authorities, we have jointly agreed to reschedule DIBS until November 25-29 at the Dubai Harbour venue.”
The postponement of DIBS should bring benefits to the show, with the scheduled opening of the new super bridge connecting Shaikh Zayed Road directly to the Harbour venue improving access, a long-standing issue for previous shows. Additionally, new multi-storey parking facilities will likely be welcomed by visitors and exhibitors alike.
However, the revised dates create scheduling conflicts with other marine industry events, including the Abu Dhabi International Boat Show (ADIBS), set for November 19-22, and the Dubai Pre-Owned Boat Show, scheduled for November 12-15 at the Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club Marina.
