ePropulsion used the Cannes Yachting Festival to unveil its new eCore Energy Management System, introducing a more integrated approach to managing propulsion and onboard power for cruising yachts and catamarans.
Designed for increasingly electrified vessels, eCore brings energy generation, storage, propulsion and onboard consumption together within a single platform. The system can manage multiple power sources, including shore power, diesel generation, solar and hydrogeneration, alongside electric propulsion and AC and DC onboard loads.
At the heart of the system are two components: eCore 96VDC, the main energy management unit, and the optional eCore AC module. Together, they provide flexible management of both DC and AC power, while system information can be monitored through compatible displays and navigation equipment.
Built around simplicity, flexibility and efficiency, eCore features a scalable architecture that can be adapted to different vessel configurations and energy requirements. Boatbuilders can begin with the DC system and add eCore AC where broader onboard power management is required.
The system also offers intelligent load management, power-saving and load-shedding functions, energy consumption monitoring and historical data. Remote monitoring supports troubleshooting, while integration is available with multifunction displays from Raymarine, Garmin and Simrad/B&G.
eCore can also support customised HMI designs for individual shipyards, giving boatbuilders greater flexibility when integrating electric propulsion and onboard energy systems.
The launch represents an expansion of ePropulsion’s technology offering beyond electric propulsion, with the company aiming to provide a more complete energy-management solution for the next generation of electrified vessels.
