In the past month, Auckland based company Lightning Marine, builders of the FatCat range of boats have begun exporting multiple FatCat 4000 boats.
Distributors have been appointed in both Korea and the UK with enquiry growing from many other countries as people begin to find out about this unique and very practical craft.
The FatCat 4000 was developed by former Emirates Team New Zealand Design Team member Blair McLay in conjunction with business partner Roger Tweddell as a safer, more spacious and stable alternate to the typical dinghies common in New Zealand. It is built from rotomoulded polymer and fitted out to a high level by the team in North Auckland. The robust platform is versatile enough to be used for almost anything with customers coming from all walks of life.
With more people hearing about the FatCat 4000 and with the FatCat 5000 soon to be released, the company has moved to a larger premises at Unit 9/623 Whangaparaoa Road to keep up with demand and allow for further expansion.
Visitors are welcome to visit the new showroom and demo rides are available by appointment or at one of the monthly demo days.
