During 2020, Taiwan based Horizon’s four local shipyards were able to continue operations as normal and orders were delivered on time.

Their Sanctuary Cove, Queensland, Australia based Horizon Yachts Australia has certainly benefited from that unbroken production level.

According to Taiwan’s Directorate General of Budget, Accounting and Statistics (DGBAS), Taiwan was ranked as the world’s top-performing economy in 2020. This was due mainly to the successful containment of COVID-19, which allowed commerce to continue without interruption.

“While the majority of the global boat shows in 2020 were cancelled and yacht sales worldwide felt the impact, Horizon’s sales teams around the world implemented a number of opportunities that kept clients and owners engaged. Horizon Yacht Australia hosted a successful Owners’ Rendezvous attended by ten Horizon yachts and their owners in the Whitsunday Islands.

“At present, one-third of the orders on the yard’s production line are from repeat customers. Repeat client orders have become a steady and important source of business for Horizon over the years and the importance of after sale service is a huge part of return customers”, says Horizon Business Manager Erica Rae.

She adds that Horizon is now the largest yacht manufacturer in Asia and the market in Australia over the past 6 months has shown outstanding growth in particular with the FD Series.

The FD Series is one of the world’s fastest growing yacht series and the Series did not lose momentum in 2020, thanks to continued demand and steady orders.

“With an order book of six FD Series currently for Australia which range from FD75’s, FD87’s and an FD102, the East Coast waterways are set to home to these show stopping vessels over the next 12 months.

“Not to mention several E series vessels that will also be delivered to repeat clients to the East and West Coast of Australia”, says Rae.

Rae points out that Covid has changed the build and order process for Horizon Yachts around the world with the Yards working with the local teams to implement a new structure for the design process. “Interior Selections are completed locally with the HYA Team in which we are currently in the process of a new office build at Sanctuary Cove, which include an interior design centre for owners to design the yacht of their dreams without leaving the country”.

Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show will host the Australian debut of the Cor D Rover Special Edition Horizon FD87 Skyline. At an overall length of 90’ and a 23’ 3” beam, the enclosed skylounge features an on-deck master stateroom, High Performance Piercing bow and hull design, tremendous interior volume, helipad on the roof and heated jacuzzi on the bow.

“The Horizon’s FD87 Skyline ticks all of the boxes for owners seeking that perfect combination of space, performance and entertainment capabilities.” said Rae.
