The New DEMO Image Fishmaster 8.5m owners Paula & David, who have kindly loaned the boat for the Xmas Tour pre-handover.
Image Boats celebrates 25 years of its annual South Island Christmas demo tour, with the Wilkes family taking the company’s latest demonstrator on the road over the 2026/27 summer holidays. Combining a working trip with a family adventure, the tour lets boaties meet Dean and Stacey Wilkes, explore the boat, and experience it on the water.
The itinerary begins in Christchurch on 29 December, then heads to Kaikoura on 30 December, Picton from 1–12 January, Nelson from 13–18 January, Abel Tasman National Park from 19–22 January, and the West Coast on 22–23 January. At each stop, visitors can view the demonstrator, step aboard and arrange a test run to get a first-hand feel for its handling, layout and onboard features.
The tour also tests the boat’s liveaboard capability. With a family of up to six using it as their home for weeks at a time, both on and off the water, the journey shows how an Image Boat supports extended family adventures.
For Dean and Stacey, these summer visits provide a valuable opportunity to catch up with existing owners, meet prospective customers and hear how people use their boats in different locations and conditions.
