INDUSTRY STALWART RON BROWN PASSES AWAY

It was with great sadness that NZ Marine learned of the passing of Ron Brown earlier this month, on the Gold Coast where he had lived for several years.  Ron was known to many through his long involvement with Altex Coatings and his extensive industry knowledge.

As Chairman of the then Marine Industry Association’s Refit Sector Group, Ron was one of the driving forces behind the development of standards, codes, and practices that helped professionalise the New Zealand superyacht refit sector and grow its contribution to the national economy.

Ron was highly respected in the NZ Marine Industry and will be missed by many.  Our thoughts go to Ron’s wife Anne, his family and friends.
