Mercury Marine has announced that Kev & Ian’s Marine has earned the title of Mercury Marine’s New Zealand Dealer of the Year for 2021.

Located in Auckland’s suburb of Wiri, the dealership has been operating for over 30 years and is one of the biggest and longest standing Stabicraft dealers in the country. The collective experience and knowledge at Kev and Ian’s means that the team can ensure confidence in their product; something reflected in the fact that their Mercury outboard sales doubled over 2021.
Also contributing to their success and leadership in dealing in New Zealand, was a recent move to becoming a single brand business. Mercury Marine’s Director of Sales David Meehan said the recognition Kev & Ian’s Marine has been receiving is well deserved.
“The 2021 New Zealand Dealer of the Year competition was hotly contested, there were many worthy candidates for this award,” he said.
“Kev & Ian’s Marine managed to stand out among the tough competition and shine as a dealership. They’re well-known for their excellence in parts and accessories sales, but what they achieved in outboard unit sales growth in 2021 was incredible.
“Our sincerest congratulations to Luke and the team on their award – it’s great to be able to recognise you all for your hard work.”
Brad Zoelle, Mercury Marine’s Australia, NZ and Pacific Islands General Manager, said Kev & Ian’s has done well to capitalise on a very “buoyant” market.
“From selling Smartwave tenders up to the flagship range of Stabicraft Supercabs, Kev & Ian’s have a huge range of products fit for New Zealand waters,” Brad said.
The Australian Dealer of the Year Award for 2021 was taken out for the second year in a row by Brisbane Marine in Brisbane (QLD).
Mercury’s annual awards are based on a range of objective criteria including year-on-year growth across all product categories (Outboard, MerCruiser, Parts & Accessories), business diversity, service status and market share growth within their dealer district.
The awards also involve regional and specialist categories.
