Lofrans’ expands product range with new stern windlass.
Lofrans’, the Italian manufacturer of windlasses and anchor management solutions, has expanded its product range with a new stern windlass, Gecko. The windlass comes in two motor versions, 600W and 900 W, and is ideal for vessels from 20ft up to 45ft. It features automatic free fall operation with the push of a button, as well as auto-stop function for carefree anchoring.
The windlass can use 12mm/14mm/16mm three-strand or leaded rope. It can be installed in the port or starboard side of the transom, while each unit is equipped with a handle, rope guide, pressure finger and control box. Its installation needs very limited space, as the motor/gearbox can rotate up to 180° at 60° increments.
Gecko features horizontal configuration for easy installation in the stern of the boat inside the anchor locker compartment, keeping the boat’s appearance unaffected, without compromising on performance – something that justifies its name from a small lizard who has the ability to camouflage with the colours of the environment.
