Ever evolving, Maritimo has introduced new design features in its latest vessel. Australia’s world-class luxury motor yacht builder expands its next-generation line-up with the global reveal of the all-new S50 Sedan Motor Yacht, ahead of its global launch at the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show, May 21–24, 2026.
Arguably the most refined model in Maritimo’s popular S-Series, the S50 is not simply a scaled-down version of the celebrated M50 but a ground-up reimagining of Maritimo’s sport yacht DNA. The goal: an aggressive yet elegant profile with unprecedented interior flow. Drawing inspiration from the acclaimed M50 and the design language of the new S55, S60, and S75, the S50 embodies the spirit of open-water adventure infused with modern Australian sophistication. “We wanted the S50 to be more than just a smaller sibling,” said Neil McCabe, Maritimo’s Design Manager. “It’s a purpose-built sports motor yacht that’s spacious, sleek, and entirely focused on the owner’s experience.” Following the success of the S55 generation, Maritimo set out to refine the design language, enhance usability, and deliver a progressive and luxurious vessel in a more compact footprint.
The silhouette remains unmistakably Maritimo—muscular yet elegantly proportioned, with strong horizontal lines and a sharp, automotive-inspired profile. A slender new hardtop provides a sporty look while keeping weight low. The front windscreen is raked further, side windows open from the front, and a more dynamic rear pillar integrates fixed glass to elevate the cockpit experience.
The larger cockpit now features a Euro-style boot that hinges from just ahead of the curved seat, revealing a spacious lazarette for water toys. The area includes a fridge, grill, and sink, paired with a 1.3-metre-deep swim platform that can move vertically and horizontally—ideal for carrying a tender or fitting into shorter pens. Even the hull has been restyled. “We’ve sharpened the master cabin window and modernised the edge lines,” explained McCabe. “It’s a continuation of the S-Series design language but with a more athletic, contemporary feel.”
Behind the S50’s elegant simplicity lies an intensely collaborative design process. Maritimo’s in-house designers, engineers, and craftsmen work in close parallel, allowing ideas to move quickly from sketches to tooling. “We’re a small, agile team—decisions happen fast,” McCabe said. “While we learned from the M50, we gave the S50 its own identity—its own deck, flow, and personality.” Senior Designer Julian Villegas added, “Owners of S-Series yachts are typically hands-on operators. They value simplicity, space, and style—a boat that’s easy to run and maintain but doesn’t compromise on luxury. That’s exactly what the S50 delivers.”
The cockpit and galley now sit on the same level, enhancing flow. The cockpit is 300mm longer from the galley doors to the lounge, allowing varied configurations. The galley has moved to port, with a full return instead of an island bench. On starboard, a pantry and bureau can be fitted with drawer fridges, wine storage, or an ice maker.
A two-seater settee sits centrally between the galley and main lounge, which can convert into an extra berth for two guests. The design maximises openness and social connection across the main deck. The helm seat, electrically adjustable and heated, is cantilevered rather than boxed in, keeping the deck visually open. Maritimo’s new ‘floating dash’ improves visibility and ergonomic access while maintaining a clean aesthetic. Headroom remains exceptional: 2.4 metres in the galley, 2 metres in the saloon, and at least 1.94 metres below deck. Large windows with slim mullions flood the interior with natural light, providing clear sightlines throughout.
Below deck, the two-stateroom configuration allows for enhanced storage, circulation, and a more luxurious feel. The Owner’s Stateroom enjoys the most space, with opening ports and deck hatches ensuring light and ventilation. “Our focus was to deliver a 50-footer that feels like a much larger yacht,” said Villegas. “Having two staterooms gave us the freedom to tailor each space beautifully.”
Beneath its sleek lines, the S50 retains Maritimo’s proven engineering pedigree while shedding unnecessary weight through refined laminates and infusion techniques. Every structural component is optimised for performance, seakeeping, and efficiency. “Having everything on site means we maintain total control,” Villegas explained. “We can go from the design office to the mould room in minutes, check a fit, adjust, and refine. That immediacy ensures quality and consistency.”
With its new hardtop design, expanded cockpit, generous storage, and luxurious master suite, the S50 represents Maritimo’s next evolution in sport yacht design. “It’s the perfect package—large enough to offer real luxury and range, but still manageable for an owner-operator,” said McCabe. “The S50 distils everything that makes the S-Series special into its purest form.” The S50 isn’t about excess—it’s about refinement, proportion, and balance. Every detail serves a purpose, from the floating helm to the sweeping hardtop. “It’s a true sport yacht—open, connected, and ready for adventure,” McCabe added. “We’ve made sure it feels as good to live aboard as it does to look at.” With its blend of cutting-edge design, enhanced functionality, and unmistakable craftsmanship, the Maritimo S50 Sedan Motor Yacht stands as a bold symbol of the brand’s forward momentum—honouring its heritage while charting an exciting new course.
