MCLAY RELEASE NEW HARDTOP

by admin

McLay Boats have added another big hardtop to their extensive range, with the recent launching of the all-new 851.

This latest model from McLay is an all-new design, including the hull and is not based on any previous models. Available in stern drive or twin outboards, the 851 has an overall length of 8.80m with a beam of 2.75m and has a dry weight of around 3000 kgs. The 851 is built tough with a 6mm hull bottom and 5mm sides.

The interior can be customised to a client’s requirements and is available with a head with shower and toilet. The first 851, Te Ika Nui, is powered by a Mercruiser 3 litre diesel @ 270hp. The top speed is 32 knots, with a fuel burn of 58 lph. The best cruise is around 22 knots @ 3100 rpm, which returns a fuel burn of 27lph. All the power is transmitted through a Bravo 3 drive.

The deep-vee hull is very slippery through the water and has a rapid response to the throttle. O-23 knots in 6.2 seconds proves that.

The boat will be used extensively for bottom and game fishing and comes with a fishing cage around the platform, live bait tank rod holders, bait station and outrigger poles.
