More Boats, More Ways To Get On The Water At The 2027 Auckland Boat Show

The Auckland Boat Show will return to the heart of Auckland’s waterfront from 1–4 April 2027, bringing together hundreds of boats and marine brands, opportunities to get out on the water, and new ways to enjoy boating.

Held at the Viaduct Events Centre and Jellicoe Harbour, the four-day event will open the Australasian boat show season, ahead of the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show in May and will follow the Ocean Race Auckland Stopover.

From fishing and trailer boats to family cruisers, luxury launches and custom-built yachts, the Auckland Boat Show offers visitors the chance to explore an extensive range of New Zealand-built and international vessels in one location. Visitors can also discover the latest engines, electronics, marine equipment, accessories and technology, and speak directly with the designers, builders and suppliers behind them.

Try before you buy
One of the Auckland Boat Show’s biggest attractions is the opportunity to experience boats on the water, rather than simply viewing them on display.

With sea trials offered by participating exhibitors, prospective buyers can experience a boat’s handling, performance and features in real conditions on Auckland’s Waitematā Harbour.

Whether considering an upgrade , comparing trailer boats or looking for something suitable for family adventures, the chance to get aboard and out on the water makes the show particularly valuable for anyone thinking about their next boat.

At the 25th anniversary show in March 2026, visitors took part in an impressive 1,220 sea trials over four days.

The event also brought together more than 164 exhibitors representing over 500 marine brands, with 35 businesses exhibiting for the first time. More than $10 million was spent by visitors during the event, reflecting strong interest in boats, equipment and marine services.

New ways to enjoy boating
The 2027 event will focus on helping more people discover boating, including those who may not be ready (yet) to buy a boat of their own. With some of the world’s best cruising grounds on Auckland’s doorstep, boating offers countless possibilities, from fishing and diving to exploring the Hauraki Gulf’s islands, sheltered bays and beaches.

But enjoying those experiences doesn’t always have to mean owning a boat outright. Shared boating is becoming an increasingly attractive alternative, with options ranging from boat clubs and subscriptions to fractional ownership and managed boat-sharing arrangements. These models allow people to enjoy time on the water while sharing or avoiding some of the costs and responsibilities of traditional boat ownership, such as maintenance, storage and servicing.

A celebration of boating
NZ Marine Boat Show Manager Stacey Cook says the 2027 event will build on the success of the show’s 25th anniversary while encouraging more people to discover what boating has to offer.

“The Auckland Boat Show is a fantastic opportunity to see what’s available, talk to the people who know the boats best and, importantly, get out on the water and experience them for yourself.

“We also want to show people that there are more ways than ever to enjoy boating. Boats come in all shapes, sizes and budgets. Whether you’re looking for your first boat, planning an upgrade or considering shared boating, there’s something here to help you take that next step.”

Popular features including the Seminar Series and Women in Marine event will return, alongside the extensive on-water and land-based displays. Set amongst Auckland’s waterfront restaurants, marinas and attractions, the Auckland Boat Show is also an opportunity to turn a day at the show into a long weekend exploring the city and the Hauraki Gulf.

The Auckland Boat Show takes place from 1–4 April 2027 at the Viaduct Events Centre and Jellicoe Harbour, Auckland.
