WAVE300 is billed as the world’s first mass-produced high-voltage, high-power, 300hp electric outboard
WAVE300 is billed by its manufacturer ExploMar, as the world’s first mass-produced high-voltage, high-power, intelligent 300hp electric outboard. Launched late in 2022, the outboard features modular and stackable lithium batteries, that coupled with its hydrodynamic design, helps the WAVE300 achieve high speeds with extended battery life.
Despite its 300hp, WAVE 300 weighs 180 kg and has a modulable powertrain, with the quantity of variable HEDB – High Energy Density Lithium Batteries, which can be selected by users according to their autonomy requirements.
The cooling system is entrusted to a closed circuit that avoids the contact of whatever internal component of the motor with the sea water, protecting it against corrosive phenomena.
Thanks to supply chain advantages, ExploMar says the WAVE300 will launch at a very competitive price. The unit’s design combines precise engineering with softer aesthetics that take their inspiration from the natural form of a whale.
The manufacturer says it is committed to promoting energy sustainability in the leisure boating industry and as well as the WAVE300 it is also working on a hydrogen (H2FC) power train that is set for launch in 2025.
