While long-known for having a progressive approach to technology, the introspective moments of 2020 and 2021 have seen New Zealand’s marine industry take innovation and run with it.
A category-leading remotely operated vehicle and game-changing Multibeam Sounder technology are just some of the products to discover when the New Zealand marine industry brought its hive of innovation to METS last week.

Twelve New Zealand companies were represented at the world’s largest marine trade show, held in Amsterdam.Â
New Zealand was represented by a diverse range of marine products, including the WASSP Multibeam Sounder technology, a global leader in underwater foul release coatings, Propspeed and Boxfish Research with their remotely-operated vehicles (ROV), which have revolutionised the market.
HamiltonJet displayed its future-ready approach to its waterjet models, with the company also using its expertise to integrate hybrid electric technology into vessels around the globe. Once again, long-standing Kiwi company Fusion Entertainment showed off their quality sound systems, and award-winning composite manufacturer, TruDesign used METS to launch a 3″ Ball Valve range of fittings for the larger end of the Seacock market.Â
Also exhibiting were Fastmount with its new Stratlock Rail System, C-Tech, Manta5, ecostore and Lloyd Stevenson Boatbuilders.
