OKARA MARINA IS IN MOTION – THE FIRST 44 BERTHS WILL BE AFLOAT IN JULY

by admin

The Auckland Boat Show was a great success for us — we’re excited to announce that sufficient berth sales have been confirmed, allowing construction of the piers to begin.

M-Pier, which will include 44 berths ranging from 10m to 20m and a 35m T-Head, is on track to be in the water by late July. Those who have purchased smaller berths on the upcoming piers can temporarily sit in the reserved larger berths until theirs is completed.

Dredging of the basin, which was temporarily paused over the peak summer period in accordance with our resource consent conditions, is now back in full swing. Work is currently focused on the M-Pier fairways and the southern batter.

The land reclamation work is 80%complete, and it’s looking impressive. A period of settlement and additional fill is required before the surface can be sealed. In the meantime, to enable occupation of the first pier, gravel carparking and temporary shore facilities will be provided until the permanent building is completed.
