BOATGEAR is proud to highlight the latest Quick Group QSY proportional thrusters, designed to integrate with modern Volvo Penta and Mercury Marine manoeuvring systems. The Quick QSY range is available in 140 mm, 185 mm and 250 mm tunnel sizes.
Using Quick Synchronous Motor (QSY) technology, the QSY 140-55 delivers 55 kgf of thrust from a compact 140 mm tunnel. Its brushless synchronous motor provides immediate torque, smooth proportional control and improved efficiency, making it ideal for compact to mid-size boats. Rated IP68 as standard, the QSY 140-55 offers quiet operation, reduced maintenance and lower energy consumption compared with traditional DC motors.

At the heart of the system is Quick Group’s QNE Thruster Control System, using PCC controls connected through the proprietary QCentric CANbus network.
The system allows direct communication between the PCC control and QSY thruster motor without requiring an additional control unit. A standard installation needs only the control panel and thruster, reducing wiring, installation time and complexity.
COMPACT CONTROL
Quick’s PCC controls retain proportional response, diagnostics and safety functions in a compact format suitable for smaller helm stations. The QCentric network also supports multiple control locations, including flybridges and cockpit helm stations.
VOLVO PENTA AND MERCURY INTEGRATION
Through a dedicated gateway, the system can integrate with leading engine manufacturer manoeuvring systems.
For Volvo Penta, compatibility includes Assisted Docking with DPI stern drives, IPS 10, 15, 20 and 30 systems, plus Joystick Docking for single DPI installations.
Mercury Marine compatibility includes Gen 2 DTS controls, Joystick Piloting for Outboards and Helm systems, and Mercury’s bow thruster integration kit.
