Christmas came early for an enthusiastic group of Riviera owners, partners and family members, gathered at Riviera’s state-of-the-art Gold Coast facility to celebrate the private world premiere of the much-anticipated Riviera 5600 Sport Yacht Platinum Edition.
Riviera owner Rodney Longhurst welcomed guests, many of whom had travelled from Canada, the Americas, New Zealand and across Australia to attend the exclusive evening. With a saxophonist performing from the bow and spotlights dancing across the water, Hull No.1 made a dramatic entrance amid a fireworks display, executing an effortless rotation before docking at the Riviera Yacht Club, the brand’s private waterfront owners’ venue.
Guests were invited aboard to experience the new 5600 for the first time, followed by a celebratory dinner with owners awaiting delivery of their own yachts. Speaking at the premiere, Longhurst praised Riviera’s 900-strong team and described the 5600 as a new benchmark for luxury motor yachts under 60 feet.
“Riviera’s 5600 Sport Yacht delivers new levels of space, comfort, live ability and luxury appointments, combined with exceptional engineering excellence, blue-water capability and fuel-efficient performance,” he said. “Drawing on more than 45 years of boatbuilding experience and over 6,200 handcrafted yachts launched, our brief was to create the ultimate mid-50-foot Sport Yacht. The result is spectacular.”
Riviera’s Sport Yacht Collection is guided by four design pillars: timeless styling, luxurious single-level living, effortless blue-water performance and ease of operation. The 5600 excels in all four, offering expansive all-season entertaining spaces, a refined interior and thoughtful engineering throughout. Family and friends can enjoy alfresco living on the generous aft deck, relax on the forward lounge and sunbeds, or gather inside the spacious saloon with two separate lounge areas. Below deck, three superb staterooms, including a full-beam master suite, are complemented by a dedicated laundry. Practical features include a tender garage with storage for water sports equipment and a full-height engine room with excellent access and serviceability. As a Platinum Edition, the 5600 features elevated appointments, refined finishes and elegant colour palettes that enhance its sense of luxury and craftsmanship.
Welcome Aboard
Boarding is via a beautifully teak-laid hydraulic swim platform that can be raised or lowered to create a private beach: ideal for children, swimming or launching water toys. Innovative folding steps deploy automatically as the platform lowers, while a redesigned tender garage floor, electric winch and removable rail system make launching and retrieving a 3.3-metre RIB effortless. The tender garage also accommodates a stand-up paddleboard, SeaBobs, dive bottles and assorted fishing, diving and snorkelling gear, reinforcing the 5600’s role as a true lifestyle yacht.
The Allure of the Aft Deck
Available with a short or long hardtop, the aft deck is the alfresco heart of the yacht. A plush lounge spans the transom, while a generous L-shaped dining area to starboard seats up to eight around a handcrafted folding timber table. An entertainer’s galley includes a barbecue and hotplate, extractor fan, drawer fridge, icemaker and wet bar with solid-surface benchtop. On the long hardtop, an electric blind lowers at the touch of a button, providing shade and privacy, while tinted quarter panels offer additional weather protection. An LED Smart TV deploys electronically, and an impressive electric sunroof opens overhead to welcome sun, breeze or starlight. Wing doors (available port, starboard or both) provide easy access to raised pontoons, while abundant under-seat storage, an insulated icebox and access panels enhance practicality.
Gourmet Galley and Spacious Saloon
Sliding open the saloon door and awning window creates a seamless indoor-outdoor living space. The U-shaped galley is superbly equipped with premium appliances integrated into handcrafted timber joinery, including an induction cooktop, combination oven/microwave, dishwasher, solid-surface waterfall benchtops and extensive storage. Refrigeration is equally impressive, with a full-height fridge and programmable refrigerator/freezer drawers, plus an elegant bar and wine cooler. An optional third fridge/freezer drawer can be added in the galley or accommodation companionway.
The expansive saloon is the social hub of the yacht, featuring a breakfast bar with swivel stools, an L-shaped dining lounge with a folding timber table, and a second lounge opposite the helm. With blinds lowered, the saloon transforms into a cinema with premium sound and a rising LED TV. Extra-large side windows, an electric sunroof and reverse-cycle air conditioning ensure comfort in all conditions.
Entertaining Forward
The forward deck offers another inviting entertaining space, ideal for long lunches or sunset drinks. A C-shaped lounge surrounds a teak-trimmed table, complemented by twin sunbeds with adjustable backrests. Dedicated lockers store fenders, ropes and refreshments, while waterproof speakers set the mood.
Commanding Helm
The helm is state-of-the-art, featuring touchscreen navigation, joystick control and exceptional visibility through the curved windscreen. The captain’s chair is luxuriously upholstered in hand-stitched leather, while the companion seat swivels to add saloon seating at anchor. Twin joystick stations at the helm and on the aft deck simplify low-speed manoeuvring and docking, with optional dual aft controls available.
Luxurious Accommodation
Below deck, three beautifully appointed staterooms and two bathrooms showcase Riviera’s craftsmanship. The full-beam master stateroom features a walk-around queen bed, cedar-lined wardrobes, abundant storage, LED Smart TV and ensuite with frameless shower and teak seat. Owners can choose between a chaise lounge, drawer unit or writing bureau to suit their lifestyle.
The forward VIP stateroom offers a queen island bed, ensuite bathroom, generous storage and refined finishes. The port guest cabin features electrically sliding beds that convert from twins to a double, sharing the VIP ensuite via a private day-head entry.
A dedicated laundry in the companionway includes separate washer and dryer, folding bench, storage and natural light.

The 5600 is powered by twin Volvo Penta D11 IPS 950s, delivering exhilarating performance, efficiency and easy handling. Advanced options include Sentinel remote monitoring, solar charging, assisted docking, stabilisation systems, Starlink connectivity and integrated camera monitoring. Riviera’s industry-leading warranties include five years on engines, drives and electronics, seven years structural and two years express coverage.
