The biggest and most anticipated new product launch at SCIBS this year, will be the all-new Honda 350 HP V8.    But there is another debut as well, with Robalo ‘s first ever East Coast showing of their award winning R317 Dual Console.

Robalo and Honda have teamed up, installing twin white 350 V8’s to the transom of Robalo’s bestselling R317, complete with Optimist joystick steering, and Garmin electronics.

‘We are excited to present what we believe is the ultimate crossover package, and the best way to show off the attributes of the all-new Honda flagship motor’, said Scott O’Hare from Robalo Australia.  ‘I was privileged to be the first Australian to see and drive one of the new Honda 350’s at its world debut in Genoa, Italy late last year, he said.   I was so impressed with the performance, particularly with the aggressive torque and importantly how quiet and vibration free they were, that I made the decision to be involved in the launch of the new motor here’.

Mr O’Hare said that he felt it was important to have a high displacement boat to really demonstrate the performance of the new engines.  ‘The Robalo will come in at about five tonnes with fuel and passengers, so it is the perfect boat to show what 700hp can do’, ‘there have been 350hp outboards available for a few years now, but nothing like this’, he said. ‘The Robalo R317 is a stunning boat with a brilliant deck layout and genuine crossover attributes.  All Robalo’s are designed with offshore fishing at their core, all of the features you would expect are there, but the R317 also offers a well thought out comfortable cockpit that makes it a great day boat, coupled with big fuel capacity and heaps of storage, it is a class leading design with serious credentials.’ Said O’Hare. Robalo will be on display in two locations at SCIBS, with Queensland Dealer ‘Going Boating’, located in Quay St right in the heart of the village and the R317 displayed on-water in marina berth D7. www.robalo.com
