Harbour Classic is a bold new addition to the Whitehaven fleet of motor yachts. The genesis of this boat started two years ago when Julie and Bruce Scott, owners of the Whitehaven brand, saw the need for a classic day boat to enjoy Australia’s many protected waterways. So, the Harbour Classic was born.
Now the second hull has arrived in Australia and with some bold new additions…..
Whilst she may be different from the other yachts in the Whitehaven stable, the Harbour Classic 40 adheres to the principles of great, classic design, a focus on entertainment and usability, and a fully customised build. Yet, when it came to building the second hull, the team wanted to further show the flexibility in the boat and the options available.
Recently the second Harbour Classic 40 arrived into Australia for her finishing touches under the watchful eyes of the production team. This boat has the same distinct, clean lines, however, this time, slight modifications have been made to her planing hull to accommodate twin Volvo Penta IPS drive package.
“Some boat owners like having a single engine with a traditional shaft drive and some want the security of twin engines plus the manoeuvrability of IPS drives. With the Harbour Classic 40, we can offer both,” explained Ryan Hanson, Production Director.
The options don’t stop there. The full hard top has been shortened and coupled with an extendable sunshade to give the owner flexibility to manage the amount of sunlight on the back deck. The interior has been refreshed with oak timbers and the front cabin is now fully private with a full door.
It makes for a very adaptable boat. It suits owners starting their boating lifestyle as much as those enthusiasts who are looking to cruise further afield. The Harbour Classic 40 can accommodate two couples or a young family where everyone gets the privacy they want. The cockpit can be fully protected for those escaping the city in summer or partially for sunset cocktails.
