Surface Drive or Stern Drive

by admin

Ever thought about changing your sterndrive for a surface drive?

Leigh Michau from Q-SPD Propulsion tells us that he has been getting a lot of inquiries lately wondering what a Q-SPD install would look like in place of a sterndrive. For high use or high demand applications, the ongoing cost to maintain and replace stern drives has always been a frustration for many a boat owner. Q-SPD offers a very viable alternative for any vessel that is capable of 25knots or more, will not demand hefty maintenance costs and provides performance and efficiency advantages at the same time.

“By using conventional type marine gearboxes and having all the high-risk components safely inside the boat, the boat will have trouble-free boating year after year with only nominal servicing (anodes and oil)”, says Leigh.

He adds that there is also the bonus all servicing and maintenance is both easy and at a very low cost. Q-SPD is also available for much higher engine power and for larger heavier vessels than is currently available with stern drive.
