Suzuki now offers 115hp and 140hp outboards with drive-by-wire controls.
The DF115BG and DF140BG outboards are now available with fly-by-wire technology which was previously reserved for the 150hp to 350hp range.
Suzuki claims to be the first outboard engine manufacturer in the world to offer 115hp and 140hp outboard engines with drive-by-wire controls.
The enhancement replaces conventional mechanical cable and electrical wire systems to improve smoothness and secure shifting as well as providing more precise throttle control. Added benefits are claimed to be improved fuel efficiency and enhanced silencing through the improved suppression of intake sound.
The other main features are upgraded compression ratios for the four-stroke engines to improve output characteristics and fuel efficiency. A redesigned cowling incorporates a new air intake structure, and the oil filter position has also been changed so that it can be replaced by just removing the top engine cover for ease of maintenance.
The new engines will be produced at Suzuki’s Kosai Plant from October this year and will be launched globally soon after.
