Old4New is Coastguard Tautiaki Moana’s flagship water safety initiative. Since launching in 2014, it has helped more than 24,000 Kiwis upgrade their old lifejackets to new, fit-for-purpose ones.
This summer, Old4New is back with a simpler, more convenient format that makes it easier than ever to take part.
Coastguard has teamed up with Hutchwilco and Hunting & Fishing NZ to remove old, damaged, or ill-fitting lifejackets from boats, garages and homes across Aotearoa. We’re asking Kiwi boaties and water enthusiasts to trade in their old lifejackets for a new Hutchwilco lifejacket at great prices.
Simply trade in your old or damaged lifejackets at any Hunting & Fishing NZ store before 28 February 2026 and purchase a new Hutchwilco lifejacket^ at a discounted price.
