The Orion XS is ideal for those charging a lithium house battery, as it allows users to adjust both the input and output current, limiting the amount of current flowing to the lithium battery and ensuring the starter battery is always fully charged.
Engineered from the ground up to redefine DC-DC, battery-to-battery charging, the Orion XS features 98.5% efficient aluminium circuit board technology, so there is no need for cooling fans. It is also compact, with a small footprint and boasts a robust IP65 waterproof rating.
The Orion XS also features built-in engine running detection, ensuring the charger only draws power when the engine is running and customisable charging algorithms with eight pre-set battery modes. These settings ensure optimal absorption times for both shallow and deep discharges for lead-acid batteries.
Equipped with comprehensive electronic protection against overload, short circuit and excessive temperatures, the Orion XS automatically reduces the output power when maximum product temperature is reached. With lithium batteries, the charger will turn off automatically at low temperatures to prevent damage. It will also protect the starter battery from deep discharge if the input voltage drops below a user- configurable lockout value.
