New twin forward drives, watersports controllers and new OEM collaboration highlight announcements from Volvo Penta.
Highlighting the new product unveilings was the global debut of the company’s new Twin Forward Drive system paired with a soon-to-be released Volvo Penta 400 horsepower V8 gas engine. Both the twin drives and the new engine are expected to begin shipping in August 2023.
Also announced in Miami was an updated watersports control unit which is compatible with the Twin Forward Drive. The operating system and touchscreen control have been upgraded with a simplified menu, improved user interface and expanded diagnostics.
The unit allows users to store wake profiles for up to 20 riders, while easy ballast control allows simple customisation of the wake or surf waves.
The introduction of the Twin Forward Drive and additional enhancements to their portfolio serve as strong proof to the dedication by Volvo Penta to making boating more intuitive, accessible and customisable.
