Wanted – Information On Caracat Too

by admin

Does anyone know where Caracat is now or even if it is still around? Built and designed by well known Auckland caravan builder, Brian Jackson it was the overall points winner in the 1967, Atlantic 100. This 6.7m catamaran was something very unique and was simply a caravan on water with a couple of sponsons.

It was powered by a pair of 220hp Volvo Penta sterndrives and weighed 2740 kgs. Rumour has it that after the very rough ’67 race both sponsons were starting to come away from the central structure.

PPB would like to find out more about Caracat Too, so if you have some information please contact us on.
