ZeroJet is the first jet propulsion system to be designed specifically for an electric motor, delivering the perfect balance of performance and runtime.Â
ZeroJet produce the world’s lightest electric jet propulsion system designed to deliver unbeatable performance to small watercraft.
Their innovative system is safe, easy to use, compact and quiet but most importantly, environmentally friendly, and emission-free.
The Auckland based startup is combating the ever-growing issue of outboard motor pollution by developing a competitive alternative to petrol outboards.
“With the launch of our 14kw ZJ20 electric jet system, we have gained traction in the international marine industry.Having successfully integrated our system into the OC Tender range, the production of these lightweight boats is already underway”, says Bex Rempel, CEO and co-founder of ZeroJet.
Offering superior manoeuvrability, the ZeroJet OC Tender is capable of reaching speeds of over 20 knots. Partnering with several international boat builders, ZeroJet can tailor their system to meet the individual needs of each vessel. Ultimately providing a turnkey OEM solution to boat builders.
The ZeroJet system use Lithium Iron Phosphate, LiFePO4 Super B Nomada batteries with a modular style proved itself to be an ideal choice. As standard, a ZeroJet powered tender will use four Nomada batteries connected in series to offer 48V with 105Ah capacity. These are distributed in two battery boxes, one on either side of the tender.
“We forecast a busy year ahead with the launch of additional electric jet pods in the ZJ range thus providing our customers with greater performance, increased range and characteristic low maintenance solutions. Our current focus is to sell 100 units of OC Tenders with ZeroJet electric systems”, adds Rempel
ZeroJet tenders will also be on display at the Auckland Boat Show in March 17-20, 2022
