Following a fulfilling career spanning 12 years with Power Equipment, Brian Macken is nurturing the future leadership and helping set the future direction of the New Zealand Operation.
Power Equipment New Zealand operation has been continually refining and implementing strategic changes to adapt the business to the unique New Zealand market place. This has seen many changes undertaken over the past decade, the most recent of which has been the relocation of Power Equipment to No. 10 Vega Place, Rosedale. Likewise the changing business conditions due to the COVID-19 pandemic have also seen the need for us to adapt to the current situation.
As part of our restructure Brian Macken will retire on 17th September, with Dave Low to assume the role of New Zealand Branch Manager. He will be responsible for the day to day running of operations here in New Zealand. Dave will be assisted by Martin Cook, who has recently been promoted to the new position of Marine Product Manager.
Nick Law will continue to look after our South Island and Lower North Island marine and industrial business. Nick Watson has joined us as our Power Products Sales Engineer, he is responsible for sales and support for all our industrial products, he will have some involvement in marine as required. Anthony Duff who has been with the company for the past 7 years will now take on the role of Senior Diesel Technician. Kayla Guise will transfer from a workshop support role to a Customer Services support role.
Power Equipment Ltd has made the decision to limit their retail service and will cease maintenance operations. Effective 28th August 2020, we will no longer carry out any Yanmar servicing or maintenance work. They will continue to employ technical staff to support their various products and dealer networks for warranty and new product matters. To ensure continuity in the level of service and maintenance support, Power Equipment have entered into an arrangement with AB Marine in Westhaven, who will take over the existing customer base for those that have their vessels stored nearby and will absorb some members of the Power Equipment maintenance staff.
