Nicky Sinden announces new season will be the last for TradeZone Addicted to Fishing.
Nicky Sinden, Host and Producer of TV show TradeZone Addicted to Fishing, has made a shock announcement that the forthcoming season will be the very last for the show.
The TradeZone Addicted to Fishing brand is the latest casualty of the COVID 19 pandemic, which has seen several of the show’s sponsors reassess their ability to commit to sponsorship deals in an increasingly uncertain marketplace.
Sinden, who returned from a filming trip to Rarotonga as lockdown measures were being put in place, said she returned to “a very different New Zealand”.
“I don’t think there’s many businesses that will get away with not having some sort of effect from COVID 19”, she said. “Unfortunately this season of TradeZone Addicted to Fishing – which you will see on TV very soon – will be the last. We’re in a crisis situation, where businesses are going to be looking at their finances closely. Many of our sponsors had verbally agreed to come on board for the following season, and then decided there was no way they could sign because of everything going on.”
Sinden stressed no-one was at fault, but the planned sale of the brand had not gone through due to the impact of the COVID 19 crisis. As a result, the show will not continue after the forthcoming season, which will air on Prime TV later this year.
Season 7 of TradeZone Addicted to Fishing was originally tipped to start in April, but lockdown measures have stopped the team from filming any further episodes. Filming will have to wait until lockdown measures are eased, pushing the on-air date back.
Sinden promises that viewers will enjoy a “kick arse” final season of TradeZone Addicted to Fishing when it hits screens, and says she has “enjoyed every single minute of it” over the years. She also thanked the show’s sponsors and viewers for their continued support.
