After more than 40 years in the marine industry, Bob Tait is retiring
The Directors of Tohatsu Outboards NZ Ltd, have announced that the business is being sold to their business partner Lakeside Marine NZ Ltd, a subsidiary of Lakeside Marine Pty Sydney.
“All good things must come to an end and in line with this, and after an initial diagnosis, ongoing medical intervention and current advice from my medical team it is with a degree of sadness that we have decided to sell the business”, says Bob Tait, MD of Tohatsu Outboards NZ Ltd, distributor for Tohatsu outboard motors in New Zealand
The new owners, Lakeside Marine NZ Ltd, is owned by the Goddard family, John and Michael and are no strangers to the business being the existing distributor for Tohatsu outboards in Australia. Putting the distributorship into one company for both countries was a logical move for the brand.Â
The business will continue to trade as Tohatsu Outboards NZ Ltd and will be ably supported by the team in Australia. Bob Tait will continue in an advisory capacity to the new owners for two months, to complete a smooth transition of the Tohatsu Outboard product in NZ to Lakeside Marine.
